IBA Karachi admission Fall 2027: test dates
IBA admits undergraduates for Fall 2027 in three rounds, each with its own aptitude test. All three schools (Business Studies, Mathematics and Computer Science, Economics and Social Sciences) use one common test. You can apply to more than one school, but you pay a separate application fee for each school and cannot switch to a school you did not apply to.

Round 1 results: test result on 30 December 2026, SMCS final result on 8 January 2027 and SBS final result on 12 January 2027 after interviews (1 to 8 January). SESS has no interview. Classes start on 23 August 2027 for all rounds. IBA says interview dates may change.
IBA aptitude test and SAT route
What the test covers
English composition and mathematics multiple choice questions at SAT difficulty, plus essay writing for some programmes. One test for both campuses.
Cut-off
IBA has no fixed pass mark. The Admissions Committee sets the cut-off for each programme after the test. Some programmes also hold interviews.

SAT has no minimum score for exemption: only the top SAT scorers get direct admission or an interview, and others are marked unsuccessful. IBA advises SAT applicants to take its own test too, and to apply in Round 1. SAT and ACT scores stay valid for five years.

A 3% Sindh sales tax on services is charged on top of tuition and other fees. The rate shown is for Year 1 of students admitted in Fall 2026; IBA announces fees once a year, so Fall 2027 rates may differ. Main and City campus fees are the same.

IBA has two campuses in Karachi: the Main Campus on University Road and the City Campus on Kayani Shaheed Road, Garden. There is one aptitude test and one fee structure for both.

- E and U grades are not accepted at A-Level, and subsidiary or AS papers do not count.
- Every foreign certificate, including O and A-Levels, needs an IBCC equivalence.
- There are no reserved or quota seats. IBA does not lower its criteria to fill seats.
- Documents: Matric or O-Level and Intermediate or A-Level certificates, IBCC equivalence where needed, CNIC or B-form, and the NADRA vaccination card.

How to apply to IBA Karachi
- Fill in the online form on onlineadmission.iba.edu.pk. There is no paper form.
- Pick every school you want to be considered for (SBS, SMCS, SESS) now. You cannot add a school after the results.
- Print the bank challan and pay the processing fee for each school at a designated bank branch.
- IBA emails your admit card, one per school, on the dates in the schedule (14 to 16 December 2026 for Round 1).
- Take the aptitude test in person at your test centre. IBA does not offer an online test.
- Check your result on the portal, attend the interview if your programme has one, and collect the admission package with the fee challan and offer letter.

What is the IBA Karachi fee per semester?
IBA charges Rs 31,500 per credit hour in 2026-27 for every undergraduate programme, plus Rs 7,000 student activity charges and 3% Sindh sales tax. A 15 credit hour semester costs about Rs 479,500 before tax.
What is the last date to apply to IBA Karachi for Fall 2027?
Round 1 closes on 9 December 2026 with the test on 20 December. Round 2 closes on 8 March 2027 and Round 3 on 9 June 2027.
What is the minimum percentage for IBA BBA?
65% in HSSC, or 2Bs and 1C at A-Level. BS programmes such as Computer Science and Economics need 60%.
Is there a quota at IBA Karachi?
No. IBA has no reserved or quota seats and admits on merit only.
Can I get into IBA without the aptitude test?
Yes, with SAT or ACT scores. ACT needs a composite of 29 for BBA and business programmes and 28 for other BS programmes. SAT has no minimum; only the top scorers get admission or an interview, so IBA advises taking its test too.
Can I apply to more than one school at IBA?
Yes. You take one common test but pay a separate application fee for each school you apply to.
Does IBA Karachi give financial aid?
Yes. In 2024-25, 41% of students received aid worth Rs 972 million through need-based assistance, instalments and Qarz-e-Hasna.
Is the IBA aptitude test online?
No. The aptitude test is taken in person at IBA's test centres.
