PIEAS BS admission dates
PIEAS admits BS students once a year through its own written test, held twice in each cycle. In 2026 the portal opened on 8 February, the first test was on 12 April in 18 cities, and the second test was on 12 July. Seven merit lists followed, and students joined on 7 September 2026. BS admissions for 2026 are now closed.

PIEAS has not announced the 2027 dates yet. The 2026 advert appeared in newspapers on 8 February, so expect the next one around February 2027. The second test is held in fewer cities (Faisalabad, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Peshawar in 2026).
PIEAS merit formula
PIEAS uses your percentile in the written test, not your raw score. HSSC Part-I marks count, so you can apply before your Part-II result. O and A-Level students get the 40% academic share from their O-Level IBCC equivalence.

There is no quota or reserved seat for any category; everyone must pass the PIEAS test. Applicants from Balochistan and the former FATA, and applicants with disabilities, who qualify the test may be admitted under HEC policy.

The test has 100 multiple choice questions in 3 hours with no negative marking. You choose the paper that matches your HSSC subjects.

PIEAS also keeps some BS seats for SAT II or ACT applicants, mainly overseas Pakistanis. You need a SAT II score of at least 2000 in three subjects or an ACT composite of at least 25. This list is prepared separately.

Mess (food) bills are extra. Most students from outside Rawalpindi and Islamabad get a hostel place; PIEAS has seven boys' hostels and two girls' hostels, and a bus service for day scholars.

PIEAS is a public university in Nilore, about 26 km from Islamabad.
PIEAS eligibility criteria
- At least 60% in both Matric (or O-Level) and Intermediate (or A-Level). Less than 60% in SSC or HSSC Part-I/II makes you ineligible.
- Engineering: HSSC Pre-Engineering or ICS. Pre-Medical students who passed additional mathematics can also apply. DAE holders are eligible under PEC policy.
- Computer & Information Sciences and Physics: Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical or ICS. General Science students with Mathematics can apply for CIS.
- You can apply while waiting for your result, but you need 60% in the final result when you join.
- O and A-Level marks count through the IBCC equivalence, which must also be at least 60%.

PIEAS scholarships and financial aid
Qarz-e-Hasna for tuition
Up to 25% of the tuition PIEAS receives goes back to needy students as a tuition waiver, repaid once they are earning.
Hostel, transport and living costs
Qarz-e-Hasna for hostel and transport dues, and Rs 8,000 a month towards mess bills for highly deserving students.
HEC and PEEF
HEC schemes such as Ehsaas and FATA-Balochistan. PEEF fully supports Danish School students, with a 100% PIEAS tuition waiver.

- Go to admissions.pieas.edu.pk, click Apply Online and create an account. Applications are online only.
- Fill in the form, upload a recent colour passport photo and your academic documents.
- Print the challan and pay the Rs 3,500 processing fee at any Askari Bank branch (no bank charges) or online. Upload the paid slip. The fee for one test cannot be moved to the other test.
- Print your call letter (admit slip) from the portal once the fee is verified. PIEAS does not send it by email or SMS.
- Sit the test at the venue and date on your call letter, then check your result, merit number and merit lists on the portal.

What is the PIEAS fee per semester?
PIEAS charges Rs 4,000 per credit hour from Fall 2026, plus Rs 15,000 for IT services and Rs 16,000 for university services. A typical 18 credit hour BS semester costs Rs 103,000, or about Rs 143,500 with a double room.
How much do I pay when I join PIEAS?
Rs 60,000 one time: Rs 35,000 admission charges (non-refundable) and a Rs 25,000 refundable security, plus the first semester's fee.
How is the PIEAS merit calculated?
The written test carries 60% (as a percentile), HSSC Part-I 25% and SSC 15%. O and A-Level students use their O-Level IBCC equivalence for the 40% academic share.
Is there negative marking in the PIEAS test?
No. The test has 100 multiple choice questions in 3 hours with no negative marking.
Can Pre-Medical students apply to PIEAS?
Yes, for BS Computer & Information Sciences and BS Physics. For engineering they need the additional mathematics paper.
When will PIEAS admissions 2027 open?
PIEAS has not announced the dates yet. In 2026 the portal opened on 8 February with the first test on 12 April.
Does PIEAS have quota seats?
No. There are no reserved or quota seats. Applicants from Balochistan, former FATA and with disabilities who pass the test may be admitted under HEC policy.
Does PIEAS give hostels to all students?
PIEAS has seven boys' hostels and two girls' hostels and gives accommodation to almost all students whose domicile is outside Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
