Expect Fall 2027 applications around May to June 2027. Students still waiting for their FSc or A-Level result can apply; admission is cancelled if you later fail the exam or miss the required marks.

FAST admission test pattern

The NU Admission Test has negative marking and calculators are not allowed. It is held at all six campuses. Instead of the NU test you can submit an SAT score or an NTS NAT score (NAT-IE for engineering; NAT-IE or NAT-ICS for computing; NAT-IE, ICS, ICOM or IGS for business). NTS tests run for a specific university are not accepted.

FAST merit formula and aggregate

50%Admission test
40%FSc / HSSC
10%Matric / SSC

Computing and business programmes use this formula. If your FSc Part-II result is not out, FAST uses Part-I marks. O/A-Level students use their IBCC equivalence percentages. FAST sets the cut-off after the tests.

33%Admission test
50%FSc / HSSC
17%Matric / SSC

Engineering programmes (Electrical, Computer and Civil Engineering) give more weight to your FSc marks.

Worked example (computing): test 60%, FSc 85%, Matric 90%

Admission test 60%60 × 0.5030.00
FSc 85%85 × 0.4034.00
Matric 90%90 × 0.109.00

The same student applying for engineering would get 77.60% (60 × 0.33 + 85 × 0.50 + 90 × 0.17), because engineering counts FSc more.

FAST fee structure 2026-27
