How to Get Admission in UET Lahore

Understand the separate ECAT and university application stages, prepare your records, and follow the official UET Lahore portals from registration to selection.

Quick answer

  • Start: check the requirements for your chosen undergraduate programme and campus.
  • Test: register at the official ECAT portal if your programme requires ECAT.
  • Apply: submit a separate application through the official UET admission portal.
  • Follow up: monitor your application status and meet any selected-candidate payment and document deadline.
  • Reference: Fall 2026 official instructions explain the process; check the current cycle before applying.

1. Start with the right portal

Admission dates: Next admission dates not announced yet. Last cycle: UG Fall 2026 online application window, 8 Jun 2026 to 15 Jul 2026.

To get admission in UET Lahore, check your chosen programme’s requirements, complete ECAT registration if that programme requires it, and submit a separate university admission application. After submission, follow your application status and any selection instructions.

Use the official UET admission portal for the university application and official ECAT portal for the test. StudentPath explains the steps; UET handles applications and payments.

2. Check the intake before making a payment

The undergraduate programme page showed Applications Closed when checked on 18 October 2026. Start by finding the intake named in the latest undergraduate notice, rather than treating an accessible form or an old homepage banner as an invitation to apply.

Keep separate reminders for ECAT registration, the university application and any deadline attached to a selection offer. Completing one stage does not extend another stage’s deadline.

You can browse admission deadlines alongside other universities, then return to UET’s own notice before paying or submitting.

3. Match your qualification to your programme

Choose the exact degree and campus first. Read its academic requirements, accepted subjects and category conditions in the official undergraduate instructions. Use those requirements to identify whether you need the ECAT or non-ECAT route. Being allowed to sit a test is not the same as being eligible for a degree.

If you studied FSc or ICS, check your subject combination. If you hold a DAE or foreign qualification, follow the instructions for that qualification rather than copying an FSc applicant’s entries. Awaiting-result applicants should check which available results to enter and what final results must follow.

For O/A Levels or another foreign qualification, ask UET when your IBCC equivalence must be supplied. Explore UET Lahore programmes and campuses to build your shortlist before filling preferences.

4. Prepare records in two stages

Keep a folder on your phone or computer with readable academic records, your CNIC or B-Form, relevant domicile or category evidence, and payment receipts. This is preparation, not a claim that every item is uploaded at the first step.

  • For the application: have the academic marks and result cards requested for your qualification, the admission challan details, and access to the email or phone used for verification.
  • For a special category: collect the supporting evidence named in that category’s instructions.
  • After selection: prepare the originals, copies, photographs, paid challan and prescribed forms listed in your offer instructions.

Check spelling and numbers against your documents before entering them. Keep originals safe for the later verification stage, separate from the files you prepare for online submission.

5. Complete ECAT registration if required

The ECAT portal provides separate routes for generating a test challan, completing the test application, obtaining an admit card and checking the result. Follow the instructions displayed for the test series that applies to your intended intake.

  1. Read the test notice and check the subject combination relevant to your qualification and degree choice.
  2. Use the portal’s challan and application routes as directed. Keep your payment receipt and registration details.
  3. Obtain your admit card through the official portal and follow its test-day instructions.
  4. Check your result through the ECAT result route and retain the details for the admission stage.

Do not stop after taking ECAT. Test registration does not submit your university application or your programme preferences.

6. Submit the separate university application

The application sequence below follows pages 27 to 29 of the Fall 2026 undergraduate prospectus. Use the instructions for your chosen intake when the application opens.

  1. Generate the UG admission challan. The reference process asks for your name, cell number and CNIC. Pay using the methods stated in the applicable instructions and save the receipt.
  2. Open the admission form. The reference process uses your CNIC and challan number, followed by email or phone verification.
  3. Enter your academic record. Follow your qualification’s route and supply the requested marks and result cards. Check both obtained and total marks carefully.
  4. Choose your preferences. Review programmes, campuses and categories. Put choices in the order you actually want to study them, and check that you meet each one’s requirements.
  5. Review and submit. Read every entry again, submit the application and keep a copy for your records.

Do not rely on being able to change preferences later. Review your choices with a parent or trusted teacher before submitting.

7. Keep payments and planning separate

ECAT registration, university application processing and admission dues after selection are different stages. A test receipt is not proof that you have paid the university application charge. Check which stage a challan belongs to before making a payment.

Build a realistic preference list around subjects you want to study, travel or hostel needs, and the budget your family can manage. An aggregate estimate can help you compare choices, but it is not an admission offer.

Plan your UET aggregate

Use the Fall 2026 sourced calculation as a planning reference, not a guarantee of the next intake's rules or selection.

8. Follow your status after submission

Return to the admission portal regularly to check your application status and any document deficiency. Keep your submitted copy and receipts nearby so you can respond accurately to an official query.

If selected, read the offer’s payment and document instructions immediately. The Fall 2026 process required selected students to submit dues and documents to remain in consideration for higher preferences. Do not ignore a lower-preference offer while waiting for another list.

Prepare the required originals and copies, complete the prescribed forms and meet the deadline attached to your offer. For a payment, document or application problem, use the contact details on the official admission portal and keep a record of your enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the official UET Lahore admission portal?

Use admission.uet.edu.pk for the university application and status. The separate ECAT test portal is ecat.uet.edu.pk.

Does ECAT registration complete my university application?

No. You must separately submit the university admission application with your programme, campus and category preferences.

Does every undergraduate programme require ECAT?

Check your chosen programme's official requirements. The Fall 2026 instructions distinguish ECAT and non-ECAT routes; do not choose a route from the degree name alone.

Can I apply while waiting for my final result?

Follow the awaiting-result instructions for your qualification and intake. Check which results are accepted initially and when final results must be supplied.

What documents should I prepare?

Prepare your academic records, CNIC or B-Form, relevant category evidence and payment records. Use the official checklist to separate initial uploads from originals required after selection.

Are the ECAT and admission application charges one payment?

No. Treat them as separate stages and use the challan for the correct purpose. Admission dues after selection are another stage.

Can the aggregate calculator guarantee selection?

No. It is a planning tool using Fall 2026 sourced rules. Eligibility, preferences, available seats and the applicable admission rules determine selection.

What should I do after submitting my application?

Monitor the portal for your status, document queries and selection instructions. If selected, complete the required payments and documents by the stated deadline.
